Lonnie Loyd Avant was born to parents, Irene (Melton) and John T. Avant Oct. 6, 1950. He entered into eternal rest April 16, 2022 at the age of 71. 
Lonnie married his best friend and love of his life, Cindy, May 18, 1973 and together they built a beautiful legacy with their family. 
Lonnie was a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, dedicated brother and uncle. His family was the absolute most important part of his life. 
Lonnie enjoyed hunting and fishing and most of all time with the grandkids, building precious memories that they will all carry with them for the rest of their lives. Lonnie was a kind and generous, very outgoing and a gentleman through and through. Lonnie was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. 
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents. 
He is survived by wife Cindy Avant, children Cody Neil and wife Rene and Casie Gale Jimenez and husband Joey, grandchildren  Bailey Nicole Avant, Isabella Hope Jimenez and Ian Gabriel Jimenez, brothers Johnny Lewis Avant and Rita, Dennis Ray Avant and Cathy and Doyle Lee Avant and Laura, sisters Barbara Elaine Bandy and Cathy Marie Cagle, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loved ones and lifelong friends.
