Marvin Lee Bolt was born in Blackfoot to Oel Lee and Alois Bolt Nov. 27, 1938. He entered Glory April 24, 2024, where his wife of 65 years was waiting for him.
Marvin graduated from Cayuga High School in 1956 and married the love of his life, Betty Sue Mosely, in July of 1959.
He worked for Verson All Steel Press Company over 25 years where they flew him all over the country to keep their presses running. He was well known for his skills. Marvin later worked for Madix Store Fixtures over 30 years until his retirement at the age of 80.
His family will always remember him as the hardest and most dedicated worker they have ever known. He was a graduate of the Kilgore Police Academy and proudly served as Constable of Van Zandt County Precinct 2 for a number of years. Marvin also served in the Van Zandt County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse.
He loved gardening, horseback riding and fishing. All his grandchildren will remember fishing with him and working in the garden. He loved to joke with you and will be remembered for his generosity by many.
Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, sister Johnnie Arender and brother Eugene Bolt.
Those left to cherish his memory are children Pam Holcomb (Keith) and Dennis Bolt (Paula), grandchildren Bre Holcomb, Garrett Holcomb (Victoria), Travis Bolt, Brooke Bolt and Tabitha Harlow, great-grandchildren Marli, James, Maddy and Hannah, sisters Nelda Wood and Judy Moore (Neil) along with a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service was held April 30, 2024, at Liberty Cemetery in Bradford with Bro. Steve Glossup officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff at Arabella of Athens and all the healthcare professionals for the loving care he received over the past years, especially the extended love they showed after the loss of his wife.
