Melba Nell Baker Fultz, 92, of Kemp passed away Nov. 6, 2024. Born July 8, 1932 in Waxahachie to Clara L Mae Zachary Baker and William Thomas Baker. She married Charles B Fultz June 17, 1950 in Rockwall.
Melba was active and vibrant from the moment she was born and throughout her entire life. She enjoyed many things, such as traveling, dancing, painting, crafts, fashion and meeting new people. Spending time with family and friends is what she most enjoyed. The love and pride she had for her family was immeasurable.
Her education began after the family relocated to Dallas and she graduated from Forest Avenue High School in May of 1950. Her working career began in one of her father’s grocery stores, around the age of nine. 
As an adult she was a valued employee and a successful entrepreneur. She was co-owner, with her sister-in-law Imogene Baker of B&W Printing in Dallas for many years and the owner of Melba’s House of Fashions in Mabank. She was active in her community and in church while her health permitted.  
Melba was fearless and independent, yet incredibly compassionate. Her unwavering faith in God, love, wisdom and strength touched many throughout her life. 
Melba was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Bradley Fultz, brothers Berlin Baker and Gerald Baker, sisters Doris Hurst, Juanita Surratt and Hazel Marilyn Baker, brother-in-law Milton Hurst and sisters-in-law Helen Baker and Imogene Baker. 
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Meleah Fultz, grandchildren Thomas Whitten and wife Miranda, Dylan Whitten and April Fultz, great-grandchildren Carter Whitten, Carmella Esparza, Eliza Whitten and Kyli Thomas, brother Merle Baker, brother-in-law Elmer Sarratt, sister-in-law Georgia Baker and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney.
