The final chapter of Richard K. Bramblitt’s history was written Nov. 19, 2023. He passed peacefully at home, at the age of 83 after a brief hospital stay.
He was known to most as Dick Bramblitt. Dick was a retired Dallas Fire Captain where he served for 30 years.    Most would say he was a great historian of the town and people of Mabank. His work on the Mabank Cemetery Board was vital to the preservation of Mabank history. His tireless hours of research for names was essential in the development of Kaufman County Veterans Memorial.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Martha Bramblitt, parents Robert (Boe) and Rena Bramblitt, siblings Virginia Owens, Ann Hunt, Jean Schell, Ruth Burk and Robert (Bob) Bramblitt.
He is survived by his wife Gayle Bramblitt, children Bryan Bramblitt, Rene Mullins and husband Don and Clay Bramblitt and wife Adelia, grandchildren Natalie Hoedebeck and husband Jeremy, Joshua Wright and wife Randi, Dillon Bramblitt and wife Bailey, Casey Skinner and husband Matt, David Mullins and wife Amy, Jonathan Mullins and wife Casey and Preston Mullins, 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a long list of loving friends.
The family will hold a last Boe’s Cafe Reunion to commemorate his life  from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 3, 2023 at the Mabank Fire Department, 111 E. Mason St., Mabank.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mabank Fire Department would be greatly appreciated.   Mabank Fire Department, PO Box 1233, Mabank, TX 75147.
Although his earthly life is over, his eternal life has just begun. He would say he is still trying to get through the judgement department, but we all know he is already recording the history of heaven.
