Rodney Eugene Bevill
Rodney Eugene Bevill, 63, was born Oct. 26, 1959 to Joan Eley and Eugene Bevill in Dallas. He passed away at his home March 2, 2023 in Gun Barrel City.
He graduated from North Mesquite High School and he was also a volunteer Firefighter for the GBC Fire Dept for seven years. He also graduated from the Police Academy and was a Peace Officer in Seven Points and the City of Tool.
He served as a City Councilman for four years in GBC and was an editor and comedy columnists for the Lakeside Newspaper. Rodney was very quick witted and always fun to be around. His many hobbies were painting and drawing. He was an exceptional artist.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, baby brother Rory Bevill and daughter Alex.
He is survived by his wife Annette Bevill, sisters Shelley Potter, Kim Anderson and Pam Parker, brothers Fred Bevill, Chuck Lacy and wife Vicki, sisters-in-laws Judi Autrey and husband Freddy and Leslie Payne and husband Corey, nieces Krista LaCour, Jessica Hood-Wright and husband Brock, Courtney Carter and husband Carlton, nephews Taylor Hamill, Preston Maker and Kyle Dyslin, numerous great-nieces and nephews, extended family and friends and special friend Casey Sohasky.
Rodney, you will forever be remembered, missed and loved. “Your Wings Were Ready, but Our Hearts Were Not!”
