Shirley Ann Harris Richey

Our mother taught us many things in life but especially three that stand out are “always tell the truth”; “never, ever make fun of anyone”; and “whatever job you do, do it right the first time.” Mama was full of wisdom, and we thank God for her living example. We know we shall see her again in heaven.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Johnny Harris, Kenneth Harris, Jewel Harris and William Henry (Pete) Harris and her sisters Lula Mae Skiles, Oleta Nolan and Nadine LaRue.
She is survived by daughters Carol Ann Taylor and husband Lynn, of Quitman and Patricia Fore and husband Tommy of Eustace, grandchildren Amy Prather and husband Matthew, Hank Taylor and Heather Moore all of Quitman and Wayne Fore and wife Denise and Tonya Bargerhuff and husband Jason of Eustace, 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, 2025, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Mineola.
