Theda Jean Kettler, 76, of Mabank passed away May 2, 2022. Theda was born Feb. 4, 1946, in Bellville, Ill. 
She was the baby of the family, with 11 older brothers and sisters. Theda grew to be a hardworking and successful woman who devoted 27 years of her life to serve her country. 
This proud Army Veteran had been stationed in Greece, Germany and Africa under the Vietnam Conflict as the secretary of the Ambassador of the State Department. 
She loved to travel. Theda had a skilled and intelligent mind, she was highly involved in politics and a member of Mensa. 
Christian by faith, she attended the First Assembly of God in Kemp. Theda had a dear heart, she enjoyed all wildlife animals and loved her own cats. This extraordinary woman will be truly missed by all of those she had touched in her lifetime.
Theda was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by friends Tammy Langdon and husband Ken of Mabank.
A funeral service was held in the Chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home May 11, 2022 officiated by Reverend Larry Smeal. A Military Honors Graveside service will take place Monday, May 16, 2022 at the DFW National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy in Dallas.
