The Malakoff varsity cheerleaders just finished up an amazing week at National Cheerleaders Associaton (NCA) camp where they received awards for technical excellence, voice projection, stunt safety, a red ribbon in cheer and blue ribbons in both chant and band chant. They were three-time spirit stick recipients and received two Herkie team awards for displaying leadership, teamwork, values and sportsmanship. The team also received a bid to NCA Nationals. Individual awards include All-American Nominees Rayonna Runnels, Daz’myne Dowell, D’Asia Fulton, Reid Snow, Kayenne Dunn, Jermya Hart, Rylann Loper, Alek Green and Jamison Moore. Four team members were named All-American: Rayona Runnels, Daz’myne Dowell, D’Asia Fulton and Reid Snow. Snow was named Top All-American cheerleader which is awarded to the highest scoring individual in the entire camp. He was given an invitation for NCA staff. Snow and Dowell also received Pin It Forward awards for making a lasting impression on staff and fellow campers.
