Mariners draft Canton star in first round of MLB Draft

Courtesy Photo/Mississippi State University Athletics Ace Reese, who played baseball at Canton High School, and was the third baseman at Mississippi State University, was drafted 24th overall in the first round of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft July 11 by the Seattle Mariners. According to CHS Athletic Director Heath Ragle, Reese is believed to be the first CHS baseball player ever to be drafted in the first round of the MLB Draft.
