Mabank Independent School District (MISD) Superintendent Dr. Russell Marshall enters the stage to the upbeat music of “Don’t Stop Believin’”by Journey during the district’s convocation held Aug. 11. The annual convocation is held to welcome faculty and staff members back from summer break with fun and inspiring messages to begin the school year. Marshall thanked everyone for their commitment to MISD and also challenged them by saying, “One of us is not as strong as all of us.”

CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Schools are starting up again and law enforcement agencies and school districts are posting on social media, asking the public to be aware and drive cautiously. 

TxDOT urges drivers to be alert as kids return to school

TEXAS–As millions of Texas children head back to school, the Texas Department of Transportation is reminding drivers to stay focused and drive safe in and around school zones and bus stops. This includes adhering to a new Texas law that requires drivers to stop and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
Everyone has a responsibility to keep children safe on their way to and from school. TxDOT offers these safety tips for drivers, parents and students:
