Two arrested, charged with continuous sexual abuse

SEVEN POINTS—The Seven Points Police Department arrested Ashton Todd Salsman and Mycala Joan Butler June 6 after executing an arrest warrant obtained and signed by Judge Scott McKee 392nd District Court on continuous sexual abuse of a child, which is a felony of the 1st degree in the State of Texas. 
In a press release, City of Seven Points Police Chief Raymond Wennerstrom stated, “Thanks to the diligent work of Seven Points Assistant Chief J. Perrini and Detective J. Gomez a full investigation revealed positive evidence leading to the arrest of the suspects.” 

Church leader sentenced to life for continuous sexual assault

KAUFMAN COUNTY–Inside a Kaufman County courtroom Sept. 1, sexual abuse victims faced the man who preyed on them while attending Grey’s Prairie Mennonite Church in Kaufman. 
In a press release, Kaufman County District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley announced the conviction of Stanley Gerald Champ of Scurry for continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, a first-degree felony. Following a four-day trial before Judge Casey Blair in the 86th District Court of Kaufman County, a jury found Champ guilty and sentenced him to life.
