KAUFMAN COUNTY–Kaufman County Commissioners heard from Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Howie on severe area flooding and efforts to help those affected at the court’s regular meeting Oct. 31.
Howie told commissioners that the area in and around Kaufman had received 14.4 inches of rain between Friday night and Monday morning, with 10 inches of that coming down on Saturday, causing significant flooding.

HENDERSON COUNTY–Henderson County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded along with Emergency Medical Services to a report that a child had been abandoned in the driveway of a home on State Highway 19 just outside Athens Oct. 29, according to a report on the HCSO social media.
