CEDAR CREEK LAKE–November is election season for several cities around Cedar Creek Lake, some electing officials while others vote on propositions.
In Gun Barrel City, the long-awaited race for mayor includes candidates Debbie DeLeon and Brian Crull.
In Tool, the race for mayor and two city council seats will be decided. Running unopposed for mayor is Councilman Mike Dumont. On the ballot for council is Councilman Michael Fladmark who is seeking reelection. Vera Bennet and Mayor Tommy Lawhon run for council as write-in candidates.
Kemp voters will have the opportunity to vote for or against alcohol sales in restaurants within the city, including beer, wine and mixed drinks. Seven Points residents will vote on the potential reallocation of 1% of sales tax revenue from the economic development corporation into the street maintenance fund.
The first day of early voting is approaching quickly, as polls open Oct. 23. Early voting ends Nov. 3. If you plan to vote by mail, your application for a mail-in ballot must be received no later than Oct. 27. Regular voting for the general election will be held on election day, Nov. 7.
