Eustace ISD recognizes stellar band performance

The Eustace ISD high school band scores a 1 during the UIL Competition Oct. 12. The band has now advanced to Area which will be held in Denton Saturday Oct. 29. The EISD board acknowledges the group during the Oct. 17 EISD board meeting. 

EUSTACE–The Eustace ISD school board recognized two members of their high school band at their regular meeting Oct. 17 for their recent award-winning performances.
We just wanted to acknowledge them,” Eustace HS Principal Lath Staats said alongside Band President Paige Row and Drum Major Mary Casillas. “Last Wednesday they competed in our UIL competition, scored one’s, which allowed them as one of three schools to make it to Area in Denton. We are very, very excited for all 60-plus members of our band and we’re glad that these two could get away from practice tonight to be acknowledged by y’all.” 
The school board also recognized a room full of primary students of the month as they all received a certificate and goody bag as well as adoration from staff members and parents in attendance. Cheer sponsor and high school teacher Megan Mancio was also recognized as the August/September Teacher of the Month. The board recognized each of the school district’s four principals as well for Principal Appreciation month.
In other business, school board members: 
• Approved the addition of a daycare worker.
• Approved previous meeting minutes.
• Heard reports on safety and security, facilities updates and English as a Second Language (ESL) presentation
• Approved changing dates of upcoming school board meetings to Monday, Nov. 7 and Monday, Dec. 12.
