Fire Departments arrived to the home to find a detached garage, carport and a single-family home on fire along with two vehicles.

MABANK–Friends and family of a Dallas firefighter are working to salvage what they can after a house fire impacted the family of nine which includes seven children. The fire occurred Jan. 11 and numerous agencies responded including Payne Springs Fire Rescue, Mabank Fire, Mabank Police Department, Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, Kaufman County Fire Marshal, Gun Barrel City Fire, Kemp Fire and the Red Cross.
According to Payne Springs Fire Rescue (PSFR) they were called to assist a multiple structure and vehicle fire in the Cedar Creek Country Club area. Units arrived to find a detached garage, carport and a single-family home on fire along with two vehicles. PSFR responded with two fire engines and a tanker truck. The tanker was cleared upon arrival as the fire occurred in an area with fire hydrants. There were no injuries.
The Cedar Creek Country Club Property Owners Association is working to offer assistance to the family by facilitating donations. Mabank ISD is also helping by creating an Amazon Wish List for the children as well.
