The Henderson County Peace Officers Association hosts the annual Peace Officers Memorial May 15 on the Athens Square to remember and honor the officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The annual ceremony consists of traditional laying of a memorial wreath, a reading of names of those who have fallen and a call to remember the ongoing sacrifices of law enforcement.
