Kaufman County receives donation for solar streetlight installation

KAUFMAN COUNTY–Representative Keith Bell, CEO of Intex Electrical Contractors, Inc., joined the Kaufman County Commissioners Court as they formally accepted a generous $33,400. donation from Intex Electric. The contribution will fund the installation of six solar-powered streetlights at key intersections throughout Precinct 2.
The new solar streetlights will improve visibility and roadway safety in rural areas of Kaufman County, providing enhanced nighttime lighting and increased security for residents and travelers. Installation locations were selected as priority sites by Precinct 2 officials to address safety needs in high-traffic rural intersections.
Representative Bell emphasized the importance of community partnership, stating, “It’s an honor to partner with Commissioner Phillips and give back to the community. Together, we're investing in the safety and quality of life our families deserve.”
Precinct 2 Commissioner Skeet Phillips expressed his appreciation for the support, noting the immediate benefit to the community. “We are grateful for this donation and for partners like Intex Electric who recognize the importance of public safety and infrastructure in our growing county,” Phillips said.
County Judge Jakie Allen praised the collaboration and expressed gratitude for the investment in rural improvements. “This donation reflects the kind of public-private partnership that strengthens our county,” Judge Allen said. “We appreciate Representative Bell and Intex Electric for stepping up to support safety initiatives that directly benefit the families and communities of Kaufman County.”
