Kaufman County reminds voters to check registration
KAUFMAN COUNTY–To celebrate National Voter Registration Day Kaufman County Elections Department is encouraging citizens to Register to vote and/or update their voter registration ahead of the Presidential Election. Individuals interested in participating, can do so at Kaufman County Election Department (KCED) headquarters located at 3001 S. Washington St. in Kaufman, Tuesday Sept. 17 during extended hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will also be opportunities for individuals to apply to be a poll worker or view equipment demonstrations.
The voter registration deadline is Monday, Oct. 7.
To register to vote, eligible voters can:
• Use any official voter registration form to register online, by mail, fax, or in person
• Request a paper voter registration form be mailed to you. Email your request to Elections@kaufmancounty.net.
Individuals who are 17 years of age who will turn 18 by Election Day will be eligible to cast a ballot in this election and may pre-register to vote.
Registered voters are highly encouraged to check their registration record to ensure that the correct mailing address is on file, especially if you are expecting a vote-by-mail ballot to be delivered. Voter registration records can be checked online at www.kaufmancounty.net/237/elections or by calling (469) 376-4595.

“Approximately more than 105,000 voters are registered in Kaufman County and there has been a historical increase in the number of voters as Election Day nears.
To avoid potential delays to increased processing times, eligible citizens who plan to cast a ballot this election are encouraged to register early,” Election Administrator Tandi Smith said.
