Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce President Jo Ann Hanstrom passed away Feb. 2. Hanstrom made a huge mark in the community and will be missed by all who knew her.

CEDAR CREEK LAKE-In my 12 years here at Cedar Creek Lake, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who was more for local businesses, growth and a true champion to the Cedar Creek Lake area than Jo Ann Hanstrom.
Hanstrom passed away Feb. 2, but not after leaving her long-standing mark on the community. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at the Mabank Pavilion located at 200 Easley Parkway in Mabank.
Hanstrom served not only as the Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce president for 25 years, but was also a member of numerous boards and committees, all of which saw her exemplary leadership, compassion and support.
Anyone who worked with Hanstrom was quick to notice her wit, sense of humor and go-getter attitude. When I first began at the newspaper, she was supportive and unknowingly taught me many things about photography, leadership and how to become involved in the community. Hanstrom was truly the heart and soul of this great community.
Please be in prayer and support for her husband of 63 years, Bill Hanstrom, and the entire Hanstrom family as they go through this difficult time.
