CEDAR CREEK LAKE–The next elected mayor for Gun Barrel City will be determined by a runoff race between incumbent Mayor David Skains and Linda Rankin in six to eight weeks. Voters cast 169 votes for Skains, 197 votes for Rankin and 149 votes for Zachary Kennedy. Gun Barrel City Councilwoman Rita Evans will maintain her position and Council Place 4 will be filled by unopposed candidate Cindy Key. 
In the City of Seven Points, incumbent Mayor Skippy Waters was reelected with a total of 37 votes to challenger, Wanda Nichols 18 votes. 
In the Mabank Independent School District (MISD) Henderson County election, Place 1 was taken by Dustin Conner who ran unopposed. Mikey Thompson and his 375 votes took Place 2 against Denise Mitchell and her 322 votes. Place 3 will be filled by incumbent Robby Teague who ran unopposed for his seat. 
The much-discussed MISD Proposition did not pass with 502 votes against and 300 votes for the proposition. Also, in the Mabank portion of Henderson County, voters reelected Tyson Adams with 34 votes and John Chappell with 33 votes. 
Cross Roads Independent School District voters denied both Proposition A with 128 votes for and 180 votes against. Proposition B was also denied with 103 votes for and 204 votes against. 
The City of Athens voters approved Proposition A with 280 votes for and 167 votes against. Trinity Valley Community College District 7 will see Jerry Stone elected with 241 votes versus Kevin Kilman who earned 195 votes. 
In Kaufman County, the City of Mabank Council will see incumbents Tyson Adams and John Chappell re-elected with 179 and 155 votes respectively. Opponents Derek Harrill and Gilbert Mitchell fell short with 126 and 81 votes. 
The Kaufman County side of Mabank ISD elected Dustin Conner who ran unopposed for Place 1 and for Place 2 Mikey Thompson takes the seat with 304 votes against Denise Mitchell’s 189 votes. MISD Place 3 will be filled by incumbent Robby Teague who ran unopposed. 
Kaufman County voters also denied the MISD bond proposal with 295 votes against and 266 votes for the proposition. 
Kaufman County and Henderson County voters overwhelmingly approved state Propositions 1 and 2.
