CEDAR CREEK LAKE–The Women of Influence Gala – Nominee Committee is proud to announce the finalists for this year’s highly anticipated event, celebrating local women who have made a significant contribution to philanthropic endeavors in Henderson and Kaufman Counties. The gala aims to recognize and honor the exceptional efforts of these women who have dedicated their time, efforts and resources to making an impact on their communities. 
The finalists for the Women of Influence gala have been selected based on their demonstrated commitment to various charitable causes and their unwavering dedication to effecting positive change in the region. These remarkable women have shown exemplary leadership and generosity in their philanthropic pursuits, inspiring others to join in their efforts to make a difference. 
“We are thrilled to announce the finalists for this year’s Women of Influence Gala, as we shine a spotlight on the remarkable women who are making a difference in our community. These finalists exemplify the true spirit of generosity and compassion, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at the gala,” said Pinnacle Women’s Club President Joanne Bara. 
Six people were selected as finalists and each will be honored at the Women of Influence Gala at 6 p.m., Saturday April 13 at the Texan Theatre in Athens. The finalists were treated to a brunch at Waves March 17, where they were recognized as contenders for the award. Finalists include the following nominees: Founder of Reconciliation Outreach for the Homeless Dorothy Moore, Owner of Bookish, a Non-Profit Bookstore in Malakoff Jen Sherman, SVP – Marketing of First State Bank and TVCC host “mom” and other philanthropic endeavors Kim Hodges, Director of Celebrate Forever Families, a domestic abuse center in Kemp Melanie Shackelford, and Director of Love in Action, a resource for the homeless in Athens Teri Caswell. Also nominated is Attorney and Eustace ISD Board Member Ashley McKee. 
In addition to awarding one of the finalists the 2024 Woman of Influence Award, the Gala will raise funds and awareness for the local twenty-two non-profit organizations that play a vital role in serving the community. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit organizations such as Family Peace Project, Abundant Life Pregnancy Resource Center, Lila Lane Outreach, and Friends of the Animals at Cedar Creek Lake among others. 
This evening of elegance and philanthropy promises to be a memorable occasion. Guests will enjoy a delightful evening filled with entertainment, fine dining, and the opportunity to make a difference in our community. The Gala will also feature a silent and live auction with exclusive items generously donated by local businesses and individuals, further contributing to the fundraising efforts. 
Pinnacle Women’s Club Charitable Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 organization which benefits its donors through a tax deductible donation. This event is almost sold out and is open to the community.
