Nov. 5 election results
CEDAR CREEK LAKE—The Nov. 5 general election for presidential, state, and local office results are as follows. Results printed are as of press time at 10:12 p.m., Nov. 5.
In the Henderson County presidential race Donald J. Trump took the lead with 31 ,252 votes, Kamala D. Harris followed with 6,875 votes, Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver earned 151 votes followed by Green Party candidate Jill Stein with 78 votes.
The senator race shows Ted Cruz leading with 29,932 votes, Colin Allred with 7,405 votes and Libertarian candidate Ted Brown with 713 votes.
In the United States Representative, District 5 race Lance Gooden led with 31,021 votes followed by Ruth “Truth” Torres with 6,241 votes. Christi Craddick took the lead in the State Railroad Commissioner race with 29,818 votes followed by Katherine Culbert with 5,900 votes and the State Representative, District 4 race shows Keith Bell securing 16,364 votes against Alex Bar-Sela who earned 3,662 votes.
In the City of Trinidad’s Mayor race, Bill Gifford took the lead with 103 votes followed by Kathy Airheart Kelley, Leah Melton, and Penny Edwards earning 77, 75, and 50 votes respectively. In the City of Trinidad City Council election three candidates Clayton Gaddis, Jeff McClintock, and Melvin Thompson earned seats on the council.
In the City of Tool City Council race Robert Stykes, Greg Figueroa, and Daniel E. Sayre secured enough votes to fill the three council positions earning 529, 509, and 484 votes respectively.
Finally, in the Malakoff Independent School District Board of Trustee election for three candidates, Keith Massingill secured their seat with 1,742 votes, Bryan Young with 1,531 and Pat Jones with 1,510.
In the Kaufman County presidential race Donald J. Trump took the lead with 39,781 votes, followed by Kamala D. Harris with 20,760 votes and Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver earned 260 votes followed by Green Party candidate Jill Stein with 197 votes.
The senator race shows Ted Cruz leading the race with 37,380 votes followed by Colin Allred with 21,975 votes and Ted Brown with 1,165 votes. In the United States Representative, District 5 race Lance Gooden earned 39,305 votes with Ruth “Truth” Torres earning 19,793 votes. In the Railroad Commissioner race, Christi Craddick led the race with 37,897 votes and Katherine Culbert earned 18,745 votes and in the State Representative, District 4 race Keith Bell led with 39,605 votes with Alex Bar-Sela earning 18,805 votes.
