Kaufman County fugitive still at large

KAUFMAN COUNTY–Kaufman County murder suspect Trevor McEuen, 36, failed to appear for his jury trial set May 5. According to a press release from Kaufman County District Attorney Erleigh Wiley, “Information received is that McEuen removed his leg monitor in the early morning hours, violating bond conditions put in place by the 422nd District Court.” 
Wiley stated that the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with multiple law enforcement agencies, is actively searching for McEuen. McEuen was scheduled to appear in court on a murder charge May 5. At approximately 5:33 a.m., he removed his court-ordered ankle monitor and left his residence. 
Authorities stated that it is currently unknown whether McEuen fled on foot or in a vehicle, and there is no description of the clothing he may be wearing. Authorities also have not confirmed whether he is armed.
According to the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s office, deputies along with multiple other agencies were in the area of State Highway 80 east of Grand Saline in an attempt to locate McEuen May 5. Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Department Captain Pete O’Reilly stated that, “If you are aware of anything suspicious in the area, please contact 9-1-1. Do not attempt to apprehend McEuen.” 
Kaufman County Sheriff Bryan Beavers stated that he is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of McEuen.
