Mabank highway crossing crash hurts two

In a press release from Mabank Police Chief Keith Bradshaw, on Friday, July 31, at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers with the Mabank Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of State Highway 198 and the westbound service road of U.S. Highway 175 in reference to a two-vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, officers observed both vehicles had sustained major damage. An investigation determined that a 2025 Kia sport utility vehicle was traveling northbound on State Highway 198 when the driver failed to yield the right-of-way to a 2004 Chevrolet was traveling westbound on the westbound service road of U.S. Highway 175.
Both drivers were evaluated at the scene by Mabank Fire & Rescue personnel. One driver was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries. The other driver was treated at the scene.
The Mabank Police Department reminds all motorists to remain alert, obey all traffic control devices, and exercise caution when approaching intersections to help prevent crashes.
