CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse reported an arrest has been made in the shooting death of 25-year-old Alexis Garoutte that occurred April 21 in the Gun Barrel City area.
According to the report, Chaz White was taken into custody at his residence in Bonita Point at approximately 7:30 p.m. May 15 for the murder. The Henderson County Tactical Team made the arrest after a search warrant and arrest warrant were issued and signed by Henderson County 392nd District Court Judge Scott McKee.
Sheriff Hillhouse told The Monitor that the investigation has been ongoing since the incident and was always suspected to be drug related. More arrests may be forthcoming from the investigation.
