Jeremy Lee Curtis of Reno passed away June 13, 2023 after losing his year-long battle with cancer. He was born in Dallas July 28, 1970 to Jerome (Jerry) Milton Curtis and Beverly Landrum Biggs. 
Jeremy grew up in the Kemp area and was a beloved friend to many. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed riding the trails in the San Juan Mountains in Colorado. 
He and his closest buddies liked to hunt, fish and drink an occasional Coors Light.

Eustace teaches future Bulldogs basics of football

Eustace ISD holds football camp for incoming fourth through ninth graders June 12-14 at the school’s football field. Campers learned skills at all positions, plays that the high school runs, how to play 7 on 7, and how to compete in multiple drills. Eustace ISD says that it was a great week, the kids had a great time and the coaches were excited to have them.

Quick action from lake visitors saves life of two-year-old

PAYNE SPRINGS– The quick thinking of lake visitors saved the life of a local two-year-old boy who had fallen off of a boat dock into the lake June 18. The visitors sat enjoying their evening on the lake and spotted the boy walking by the lake alone with no life jacket on.
