Eustace, Malakoff teams end playoff streaks

Eustace Bulldogs face Grandview Zebras May 5 in Mesquite.

HENDERSON COUNTY–The Eustace Bulldogs traveled to Mesquite May 4-6 for some playoff action against the Grandview Zebras. Thursday night worked against the Bulldogs, and the team suffered a loss in the first game. In game two, Eustace came out on top with a score of 4-3. In the final game, Eustace was overwhelmed by the Zebras, falling 7-1. The team ends the season with a record of 3-9 overall and 2-2 in District.
Malakoff’s baseball and softball winning streaks came to an end after facing Whitney and Lexington May 5-6.
Baseball faced a 9-5 loss in the home game against Whitney May 5, and in the second game held May 6, Whitney overtook the boys by just one point, 10-9.
The Lady Tigers traveled to Madisonville for a very close game with Lexington May 5, falling to the Lady Eagles 6-5. The girls came back May 6 for the second game and were defeated 8-5.
Though the season is over, the baseball team walks away with an impressive record of 17-9 for the season, and softball boasts a 24-6-1 record.
