’Jackets sting Bulldogs in season finale

KEMP–The Kemp Yellowjackets put on a show for their home fans in their regular season closer as they topped the Eustace Bulldogs Nov. 3 at home.
With severe weather hitting the area Friday, Kemp shutout Eustace 54-0 Thursday night in their final game of the 2022 season.
After scoring just one touchdown in each of the first two quarters of the contest, Kemp exploded for their largest offensive outburst of the season in the third quarter.
Holding a 14-0 lead over the Bulldogs, the ’Jackets torched Eustace for 34 points in the third quarter to increase their lead to 48-0 before adding a final score in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Kemp got an excellent performance from quarterback Deacon Thompson, who finished the night 6/8 for 102 passing yards and one touchdown pass. Thompson also added a whopping 201 yards on eight carries with four rushing touchdowns for the ’Jackets. 
Daron Brown added a touchdown for Kemp in the win on two carries as he notched 33 yards against Eustace.
The lone touchdown reception came courtesy of Laramie Greathouse with Kemp getting a defensive score as well from junior Ethan Crawford to round out the offense. 
Eustace wraps up the 2022 season at 2-8 overall and going winless at 0-6 in district play.
Kemp finishes the season at 2-8 overall as well with a 1-5 district record with their win over the Bulldogs Thursday night.
