ATHENS–After winning Bi-District and Area championships, the Mabank Lady Panthers faced off with the Lindale Lady Eagles March 28 at Bruce Field in Athens in the Class 4A, Division I Regional Semifinals, losing 2-1 to end their 2024-25 season.
Going into halftime, Lindale led 1-0 after scoring a goal at the 28:55 mark of the first half, and following (at 20:02), an apparent match-tying Addison Stephens goal for Mabank was disallowed by officials. Mabank goalkeeper Katherine McNair then blocked a Lindale penalty kick with 9:47 remaining in the opening half and saved another shot with 4 minutes left in the first half.
After Lindale took a 2-0 lead with a goal with 3:16 left in the match, Stephens scored a goal about a minute later, but it wasn’t enough as Lindale claims the trophy. Mabank won their Bi-District championship March 21 by beating Frisco Panther Creek, 4-3, at Royce City. The Lady Panthers then claimed the Area title March 25 with a 3-0 win over North Dallas High School in Ennis.
