Trinity Valley Community College inducts seven individuals into its Cardinal Hall of Fame during an Oct. 11 ceremony at Athens Country Club, including Darla Mansfield (from left), Roosevelt Fuller Jr., Benny Rogers (a journalist who is a 1977 Malakoff High School graduate and attended TVCC and later was the college’s sports information officer for 13 years), Shlonte Allen and Tosha Spain (the first coach of the TVCC volleyball program, and who is a Eustace High School graduate that now serves as that school district’s athletic director and head volleyball coach), as well as (not pictured) Al Harris and Wenceslao Aguilera. “It was a great day and ceremony,” said TVCC Associate Vice President of Athletics Eddie Kite, a member of the selection committee. “Each year our inductees remind us how special The Valley is with their remarks.” The hall of fame’s 13th class brings the number of individuals in the Cardinal Hall of Fame to 79. The Cardinal Cheer squad in 1989 was inducted as a team in 2012.
