Allen Ray Alexander

Allen Ray Alexander, 44, passed away Feb. 9, 2023, at his home in Kemp. Allen was born Feb. 8, 1979, to parents Howard Ray and Glenda Alexander.
Allen was a great friend and father to everyone who had the honor of knowing him. Allen had two real hobbies, fishing and cracking jokes. Both of which he was very good at. Always wanting to see people smile and laugh and enjoy life. That was Allen’s biggest gift to friends and family.
Allen was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Frances Alexander and Joe and Audrie Hendrick and his father.

Kenneth Eugene Green

Body

Ken was born Oct. 10, 1944 in El Campo.  Ken passed peacefully at home Jan. 26, 2023, after a very long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Ken was the youngest of three children of Donald and Opal McEwin Green. His father was in the Navy, stationed in Pearl Harbor, when Ken was born, so they met for the first time when Ken was a year old.
Ken attended El Campo public schools and graduated with honors in 1963.  He graduated with an AA from Wharton Junior College in 1965 and received a Mechanical Engineering degree from Texas A&M University in 1968.

Larry W. Schroeder

Body

Larry W. Schroeder was born to Carl E. and Sarah Lucille Schroeder of Wichita, Kan., July 7, 1952. He passed away at his home of 44 years in Kemp Jan. 31, 2023 and is survived by his wife Sidney Schroeder.  
Larry and Sidney wed July 29, 1972 enjoying 50 wonderful married years together.

Hilda Louise Noble Foster

Long-time Eustace resident Hilda Louise Noble Foster, 94, passed away peacefully Jan. 30, 2023 at South Place Nursing Center in Athens. 
Visitation was held Feb. 7, 2023 and Internment followed at Cottonwood Cemetery. Arrangements were by Eubank Funeral Home. Pallbearers were her six grandsons and honorary pallbearers were her two grandsons-in-law. 
She was born Jan. 7, 1929, in Pauline, a community west of Eustace to Thomas Rufus and Ruby Lee Meredith Noble. She was their fourth child and the first of three daughters. 

Fairy Jo “Jodie” (Martin) Loftis

Fairy Jo “Jodie” (Martin) Loftis passed away peacefully Jan. 30, 2023 at Cedar Lake Nursing Home in Malakoff where she had spent the last three years suffering from Alzheimer's. 
Jodie was born Jan. 24, 1942, in Terrell, to W.C. Martin and Fairy Eldis Martin, both of whom preceded her in death along with her first husband Frank Baker Jones Jr and her husband Rev. Mickey Maurice Loftis, brothers Royce Dean Martin, Steve Martin and Randall Martin and sisters Betty Martin and Peggy Marie Black.

Ruth Kathleen McVay

Ruth Kathleen McVay, 82, of Enchanted Oaks, was born July 8, 1940 in Bakersfield, Calif., to parents Herbert Victor McNinch and Ethel Blanche Florence. Kathleen passed away Jan. 20, 2023.  
Kathleen had many hobbies and talents, she liked to ride horses, play tennis, fishing and enjoyed her community. 
Kathleen volunteered in Colorado for the Sheriffs dept. in the Sheriff Posse, working in dispatch, special events, traffic accidents and search and rescue.

Alfred L. Harrell

Body

It is with heartfelt sadness that we have to say goodbye to a beloved husband, father, brother and friend who passed away Dec. 28, 2022, after a brief illness. 
Alfred Leon “Al” Harrell was 89 years old. He was dearly loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Those privileged to know him were treated to lots of love and laughter from his quipster sense of humor.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023 at the Beacon Church of Christ, 146 Harbor Point Rd., Gun Barrel City, Texas.

William Louis Merriman

Body

Louis was born July 17, 1931 and passed away Jan. 1, 2023 at his home in Mabank.
He served in the USAF and also fought in the Korean War. He was a Glazier for over 60 years and had his own business in Gun Barrel City.
Louis was preceded in death by parents Hubert Louis Merriman and Alma May and sisters Maxine Newcomb and Debra Smith.
He is survived by his sister Francine Merriman of Alba, wife Dora Merriman, children Leonard Merriman and wife Robbie, Randy Merriman, Karen Chambers, stepson David Fortner, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
