Sandra Joanne Pyle Mooney

Sandra Joanne Pyle Mooney, 79, of Tool passed away Feb. 3, 2024, at home. Sandra was born Sept. 7, 1944, to Joe and Margaret Pyle in Peeltown. 
She graduated from Scurry-Rosser High School in 1963.  Sandra received her associate’s degree at Henderson County Jr. College and Bachelors and Master’s degree from East Texas State University. She worked as a teacher throughout her 25-plus year career before retiring.  
Sandra loved to travel and spent time all over the world the last 10 years in places like Hawaii, Alaska, Japan, Europe and Canada which was one of her favorites.

Gwendolyn Jeanine Platt Williams

Gwendolyn Jeanine Platt Williams (affectionately known as Jeanie), 90, of Kemp passed away Feb. 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Jeanie was born in Kaufman Nov. 24, 1933 to Winnie and Albert Platt and was raised in Kemp. She graduated from Kemp High School before attending Henderson County Jr. College and East Texas Baptist University.
Jeanie wed Bobby Joe Williams June 5th, 1953 and had four children Jill, Joe, Lori and Amy to whom she was eternally devoted.

Wilma A. (Kitty) Whitted

Wilma A. (Kitty) Whitted passed away Jan. 29, 2024
Kitty was born in Escondido, Calif., in 1933. She grew up in southern California where she met her husband Byron. 
Kitty and Byron eventually moved to Tennessee before settling in Texas. In between, she also spent several years in Denver, Colo.
Kitty spent several years dedicated to raising her children Kathy and Kevin. Afterwards, she worked in the oil and gas industry for over twenty years.

Mae Pearl (Mixson) Prda

Mae Pearl (Mixson) Prda passed away peacefully Jan. 22, 2024 at the age of 101, at her home in Payne Springs.  
Her valiant effort to recover from a broken hip in recent months showed her courage and optimism in facing life’s challenges. She was born Sept. 6, 1922 in Grays Prairie to William and Minnie (Hutchison) Mixson. 
Mae married her beloved husband George Stanley Prda Sept. 14, 1940 in Kaufman. They were married for 58 years until his death in 1998.

Alma Allene Sutton

Body

Alma Allene Sutton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and dedicated educator, passed away Jan. 27, 2024. She was born Jan. 28, 1932, in Cross Roads to Colonel and Willie Turlington.
Allene completed her education in Cross Roads, attending both elementary and high school there. She then pursued her passion for learning and graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce.

Linda Chevalier Fernald

Linda Chevalier Fernald passed away Jan. 18, 2024 at UT Health Center, Tyler. Born Aug. 10, 1945, she has been a resident of Cedar Creek Lake since 1989. 
Linda was an active volunteer throughout her life with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Cedar Creek Chamber, Red Cross, American Heart Association and many other areas.
She especially loved her dogs all of whom are now being well cared for.
She was loved by many and will be missed.
There will be no service. It is asked that any donations be made to the Cedar Creek Lake Friends of the Animals.

Dwayne (Pen) McBride

Pen was born April 3, 1933 to Glen and Alleta McBride in Balch Springs. He had three brothers and one sister.
Pen graduated from Mesquite High School in 1951. 
He married Marlene Iglewski in 1952. They had daughters Barbara Jean, Teresa Gail and Penny Faye. 
Marlene passed from this life in 1978 and Penny passed away in 1995.
During Pen’s life he served in the Navy Reserve and had an honorable discharge in 1955.
Pen became a Dallas Fireman in 1955. He worked as a driver Engineer on the ladder truck for 23 years.

Bobby Keith Sapp

Bobby Keith Sapp passed away Jan. 12, 2024, at home with his family.
He was born March 31, 1937 in Prairieville to Ira Clinton and Elsie Mae Wininger Sapp.  
He attended Mabank High School, served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from North Texas State University with a master’s degree.  
Bob and Mary Ellen Killian were married Sept. 2, 1961 and had 62 happy years together.
Though Bob was a pastor, teacher, coach and school counselor, he loved God and shared the gospel with many as he enjoyed many other activities.

We regret to announce the passing of Anson Charles Lockwood at the age of 79, who passed away peacefully Dec. 23, 2023 in Crosby. 
Anson C. Lockwood was the CEO of Dynamic Machine Service Inc. for 34 years. He was a respected member of his profession and known for his master welding skills. 
Beyond his professional accomplishments Anson C. Lockwood was a devoted family man, who loved his grandkids and great-grandkids above all else.

Donald Eugene Recknagel, fondly known as “Pops,” was born Aug. 12, 1935, in Fairmont, W.Va. He peacefully departed this life Dec. 23, 2023, in Tyler
A proud veteran of the Air Force and member of the VFW in Payne Springs, Donald was a dedicated and loving husband to Vivian Jean Recknagel. Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories. 
Donald found immense joy in the simplicity of life, especially in spending time outdoors, where he delighted in feeding the animals, particularly the squirrels.
