Kemp ISD holds summer Lady Jacket volleyball camp for students July 13-14. The camp was open to incoming kindergarteners through sixth-graders and was led by Head Lady Jackets Volleyball Coach Brittni Anthony.
MABANK–Mabank Police Officers responded to a reported shooting July 13 in the 1400 block of Pharm Hills Road in the city. When officers arrived, they found a adult male with an apparent gunshot wound to the head inside the residence according to a release from Mabank Police Department posted on social media.
Officers immediately attempted life saving measures according to the report. The victim was transported to UT Health in Gun Barrel City where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. He was identified as Peter Parker, 24, from Canton.
