KISD employee arrested following investigation

KEMP-According to Kemp Independent School District (KISD) District Police arrested a KISD employee April 21 following an investigation of allegedly sharing an inappropriate digital image with a student.  
According to a press release from the district, KISD administration and the appropriate authorities immediately began reviewing and investigating the concern of an employee allegedly sharing an inappropriate digital image with a student. 
According to the district, the employee did not return to any Kemp ISD campus after the initial report was made.

Leadership Cedar Creek Lake goes to school

MABANK—The Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce (CCLACC) Leadership Cedar Creek Lake (CCL) class held their monthly class April 8 at the Mabank Independent School District administration building where attendees had “education day.” Class members heard from Chief Financial Officer Scott Hyde first who gave a quick course in school finance 101. Hyde said that a school district’s budget is generated from three general sources:
• Federal Revenue (child nutrition and title grants) which makes up 5%
• State Revenue (foundation school program) which makes up 44%

Seven Points creates Senior Citizen Coalition

SEVEN POINTS–Seven Points City Council met April 10 at the temporary city hall, located at 715 South Seven Points Blvd. (State Highway 274).
The temporary council chamber was created and built within a matter of days by Mayor Keith Betts and friends. The council was able to carry on business as usual in the chamber. 
Council member Valeri Bahm approached the council for the creation of a committee called, “Senior Citizen Coalition.”
