Family of nine loses home in fire

Fire Departments arrived to the home to find a detached garage, carport and a single-family home on fire along with two vehicles.

The volunteers of Payne Springs Fire Rescue respond to a car and school bus collision on State Highway 198 and Pin Oak Dr. by the bridge to Caney City Jan. 7. Units arrived to find an SUV crashed in the rear of the bus with heavy damage to the SUV. There were 30 young students and a driver on the bus and just the driver in the SUV. Only minor injuries to the students, none were transported by EMS. The driver of the car refused treatment or transport. The driver of the bus was transported with what appeared to be minor injuries.

Officer charged with possession of child pornography

HENDERSON COUNTY—According to a press release provided by Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse, the Henderson County Crimes Against Children Task Force received information in reference to child pornography being shared on the internet. The task force began an investigation and was able to identify Cody Burris who was a Eustace Police Officer to be the suspect of the investigation. 
The task force learned through the investigation that Burris had gained some images while on duty through an online application.
