Gun Barrel Police respond to major collision

GUN BARREL CITY–Gun Barrel City Police Department responded to a 911 call July 27 of a major traffic collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian. 
The collision occurred in the south Gun Barrel Lane area near Stillwater Street. Gun Barrel City Police Officers Stephens and Taylor responded to the scene and located a deceased juvenile male. Officers from Mabank Police Department Boner and Otterline also responded to the call to aid in the investigation. 
According to a press release from Gun Barrel City Police Department, the suspect vehicle fled the scene south on Gun Barrel Lane and then west on to Harmon Road. Officers located the suspect vehicle at an address on Harmon Road and took a male suspect Casey Dylan Jeffrey, 30 and a female suspect Brooke Leann South, 30, into custody. 
The investigation revealed Jeffrey was driving the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
