KEMP—During the regular Kemp City Council meeting held Oct. 8, the council heard development plans from Wade Bruton and business partner Chris Trevino of CT4 Construction. The plans consist of five state-of-the-art baseball and softball fields with 100% turf, not just the infields, a concession stand with sky box, a restaurant, a 21,000 square foot indoor facility for baseball, softball, basketball, and volleyball, 70-yard by 40-yard turf football field for flag football, 7,200 sq ft resort style pool with a slide, a 1,350 lf lazy river, pickleball courts, tennis court, and basketball court, 79 rooms consisting of 670 sq ft., three bunk houses, a chapel, fishing pond and walking trail. Trevino stated that this facility would be modeled after a similar facility located north of Fort Worth but contain more rooms, better features, and more community features such as events and weddings. “We want to put Kemp on the map,” Trevino stated.
The facility would be located on the 40-acre Economic Development Corporation property on State Highway 274, just south of Kemp High School, and has received positive social media feedback.
