A July 31 Athens-area traffic stop leads to investigators recovering a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, suspected cocaine, several suspected ecstasy pills, THC gummies and a large amount of U.S. currency, according to a release from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
ATHENS–July 31, Henderson County deputies arrested three people who were inside a vehicle on a county road near North State Loop 7 and U.S. Highway 175 following an investigation stemming from the Athens-area traffic stop.
According to the sheriff’s office social media page, narcotics investigators Jonathan Barrios and Jude Bonner, along with Investigator Blake Seward, conducted the traffic stop in the 5900 block of County Road 3925 in the Athens area at approximately 11:09 p.m. that night.
During the traffic stop, subjects Karl Tremayne Dora, Brealzane Hernandez-Walker and Jkeyvia Ntoi Hurd were detained, the social media release says. A search of the vehicle was conducted and narcotics investigators located concealed in the rear bottom compartment of the SUV a large gallon size ziploc bag containing a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, according to the social media post.
According to the sheriff’s office, during the investigation of the traffic stop, investigators obtained a search warrant for Dora’s residence that was issued by 392nd District Judge Scott McKee. During the search of the home, investigators located two young juveniles alone inside, the sheriff’s office alleges. While inside the residence, investigators located a large amount of marijuana in clear containers and large bags along with a large amount of suspected cocaine, according to the sheriff’s office. Also located inside the home were several suspected ecstasy pills in ziploc baggies along with THC gummies that were prepackaged for sale, the sheriff’s office alleges. A large amount of U.S. currency was also located on Dora’s person at the time of the search, the sheriff’s office post says.
During the interview of Hernandez-Walker and Hurd, the sheriff’s office alleges that they informed investigators that their children should have been picked up from the residence by other family members. When asked by investigators if the children were inside of the residence, they gave different answers, the sheriff’s office says. Both suspects told investigators that they had left the residence earlier to go with Dora to Dallas, according to the sheriff’s office. Child Protective Services arrived on scene to help assist with the children that were left alone at the residence, states the sheriff’s office.
Subjects Karl Tremayne Dora, Brealzane Hernandez-Walker and Jkeyvia Ntoi Hurd were arrested and transported to the Henderson County Jail, where they were booked on multiple charges, the post says.
According to the sheriff’s office, Karl Tremayne Dora was booked on four counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, Brealzane Hernandez-Walker was booked on manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and the charge of abandon or endanger a child, and Jkeyvia Ntoi Hurd was booked on manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and the charge of abandon or endanger a child. All three subjects were awaiting arraignment at the time of the sheriff’s office social media post.
