GUN BARREL CITY—The Gun Barrel City Council met June 24 and heard updates from YNS Development Services Chief Executive Officer Steven Haynes. Haynes explained to the council and the audience that they would begin bringing in many loads of select fill to address the sandy soil and estimated that the grating would be complete by the end of July. Haynes also explained that they would soon begin a storm drain system and that Oncor has removed unnecessary poles and added new where applicable. Utilities would be installed soon.

The 70th annual Mabank Rodeo kicks off June 27 with the carrying of the flags around the Alene & Andrew Gibbs Memorial Arena before the United Professional Rodeo Association’s Rodeo begins.
