Sheriff’s Office arrests suspect in April shooting death

CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse reported an arrest has been made in the shooting death of 25-year-old Alexis Garoutte that occurred April 21 in the Gun Barrel City area.
According to the report, Chaz White was taken into custody at his residence in Bonita Point at approximately 7:30 p.m. May 15 for the murder. The Henderson County Tactical Team made the arrest after a search warrant and arrest warrant were issued and signed by Henderson County 392nd District Court Judge Scott McKee.

Council approves engineering agreements

MABANK–Mabank City Council approved entering into proposed engineering agreements with Schaumburg & Polk for design related to the water and wastewater improvements funded by the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB). Financial assistance in the amount of $28,790,000 was approved in March 2022 which will fund the planning, design and construction. The TWDB is a state agency which administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control and agricultural water conservation projects.
