MABANK and KEMP–The Mabank Lady Panthers, following their Class 4A Division I State Semifinal berth, have 10 players placed on the All-District list following their stellar season. District 15-4A’s Kemp Lady Yellowjackets also are well-represented on the list, with five players.
For Mabank, juniors Kalli Smith and Jayda Searcy are both First Team All-District and Academic All-District. In addition, Searcy was named to the Girls’ Basketball State All-Tournament Team as selected by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, joining players from fellow state semifinalists La Vega, Fredericksburg and Decatur, the latter of which won the state title.
Mabank also received district superlatives: senior Taylor Granger is the District 15-4A Sixth Man of the Year and also makes Academic All-District, while freshman Honey Aldridge is the district’s Newcomer of the Year in addition to being Academic All-District.
Also for the Lady Panthers, senior Jacey Jones is Second Team All-District, senior Bailey Litchfield is Second Team All-District and Academic All-District. Honorable Mention All-District honors go to junior Nina Sanchez, while sophomores Makinley White and Kendal Woods are both Honorable Mention All-District and Academic All-District. Sophomore Jaci Hines is Academic All-District for the Lady Panthers.
For the Kemp Lady Yellowjackets, senior Emma Bailey makes Second Team All-District as well as Academic All-District. Her teammate, senior Allie Pringle, also is named Second Team All-District and Academic All-District.
Moreover, sophomore Rainey Carney, freshman Kimberly Mendez and junior Makayla Miller are all three Honorable Mention All-District.
