Mabank Independent School District (MISD) board members break ground for the new third and fourth grade elementary school Aug. 25. MISD Superintendent Dr. Russell Marshall said, “This is the first new school building in Mabank ISD in 20 years. What makes this happen? It starts with a vision from your school board, then after that you put together a committee that helped form the vision, but it doesn’t happen without community support.”  MISD owns 40 acres with the school being on 12 of the acres. Marshall commented, “It is a beautiful safe place.”

Mabank ISD hosts a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Mabank Elementary for grades three and four Aug. 25. The new school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2027. The location of the new school is on Blue Stone Circle in Gun Barrel City.
