Panthers fall to Bulldogs in finale 56-6

MABANK — In their final game of the 2025 season, the Mabank Panthers played host to the Kilgore Bulldogs for Senior Night Nov. 6.
Rayshaun Williams put Kilgore on the board first as he returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and the 7-0 lead.
Ray Brager’s punt attempt on the Panthers’ opening drive was blocked and recovered by the Bulldogs at the Panther 11-yard line. Isaiah Watters eventually punched in a 3-yard touchdown rush as Kilgore led 14-0.
With under 3 minutes left in the first quarter, the Panthers converted a fourth down near midfield as Jaxon Copeland completed a pass to Gavin Foote. However, a pass from Copeland fell incomplete on another fourth-down attempt and Mabank turned it over on downs with 7 seconds left in the first quarter. Jayvion Loyd rushed into Panther territory as the first quarter ended.
Kayson Brooks connected with La’keyleon Graves for a touchdown reception and it was 21-0 in favor of Kilgore.
At Kilgore’s 38-yard line for a fourth-and-2, the Panthers converted it and set up first down at the Bulldog 25 thanks to Wayne Langford with 4:30 left in the second quarter. Copeland was then stripped of the ball on a run and it was recovered by the Bulldog defense in the end zone for a touchback.
Brooks threw a 53-yard touchdown pass and the Bulldogs led 28-0 with 2:11 left until halftime.
With 1:24 remaining in the first half, Graves returned a punt for a touchdown and Kilgore would lead 35-0 at the break.
Kilgore went on to defeat the Panthers by the final score of 56-6.
The Panthers finish the season at 2-8, including 0-6 in District play.
