The Cedar Creek Country Club Women’s Golf Association (WGA) members gather Feb. 1 to present the proceeds from the 2025 Tee It Up for Kids golf tournament to Children’s Advocacy Center’s Board President Randy Squibb and the center’s Executive Director Shannon Gardner. The tournament raised $48,269.27 for the benefit of the center. Standing to the right of Squibb is WGA’s past president and current secretary, Rita Files, and to the left of Gardner is current WGA President Mary Ann Anthony. The Children’s Advocacy Center for Kaufman Counties was established to coordinate the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse cases across Kaufman County. Each year, nearly 500 children come to the center to receive forensic interviews, counseling and advocacy support. All services are provided in a nurturing, friendly and safe environment at no cost to a child’s family. The Women’s Golf Association not only supports selected non-profits in Kaufman County but also raises money for scholarships for area high school seniors. Tee It Up for Kids returns to Cedar Creek Country Club Saturday, June 27. For additional information regarding the tournament contact Denise Meyer at (512) 663-8279, Robbie Sutton Petty at (214) 226-6527 or Sue Whitson at (469) 595-5861.
