KERENS–The Indians of Frankston came to Navarro County for a District 10-2A battle on the night of Oct. 9, and back they went with a 40-12 victory to remain unbeaten in 2026.
After Frankston had taken a 14-0 lead, Kerens scored a touchdown with 3:06 left before halftime, but Ja’Darrius Peters’ 2-point conversion carry was stopped, so the Indians escaped by allowing only 6 points. The Indians added another first-half touchdown with seconds left, taking a 20-6 advantage into halftime (the extra point was missed).
In the third quarter, Frankston added a fourth touchdown to go ahead by 27-6. Kerens then got on the scoreboard again, with Peters running for a Bobcat touchdown (Kerens’ 2-point conversion attempt failed). In response, the Indians tacked on two more touchdowns to secure their sixth victory of the season. Kerens dropped to 1-5.
