MALAKOFF–The Malakoff Tigers ran their record to 3-1 by scoring in all three phases of the game Sept. 16, taking a 52-13 victory over the Gladewater Bears in the schools' second all-time meeting.
Malakoff running back Damien Jackson scored three touchdowns, two on the ground and one receiving. Zack Studley added two touchdowns, one each on offense and defense. Jason Tennyson also ran for two touchdowns. Tiger kicker Juan Gonzalez had a field goal and kicked seven extra points.

Tennyson scored Malakoff's second touchdown, running 17 yards for the score with 4:17 left in the first quarter. At 14-0, Doc Renberg recovered the ensuing short kickoff, with the Malakoff offense setting up shop at the Gladewater 28. Gonzalez later kicked a 26-yard field goal to increase the Tiger lead to 17-0 with 1:58 remaining in the opening quarter.
Another Gladewater kickoff return miscue allowed Asa Mondragon to recover the ball uncontested, followed on the next play by a four-yard Jackson touchdown run. Malakoff led 24-0.
Tennyson added an eight-yard scoring run with 8:15 left before halftime (31-0, Malakoff), then Bubba Hicks recovered another botched Gladewater kickoff, which was followed by a 32-yard Mike Jones touchdown pass to Jackson (38-0, Tigers).
