Woman arrested for murder
EUSTACE—At approximately 8:18 p.m., Monday, May 27 Henderson County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) received a call from Patricia Childs stating she had just shot her boyfriend, Troy Aldredge, and he was not breathing outside of Eustace according to a press release from Henderson County Sheriff's Office.
According to the release, deputies responded to the scene located in the 15000 block of Morning Star Circle along with UT Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Henderson County District Attorney’s Office, and Texas Rangers.
Upon arrival, deputies observed Aldredge to be deceased with obvious gunshot wounds just outside the residence and located Childs sitting inside the residence with a handgun on the floor of the living area of the residence the release states.
Childs was checked by EMS personnel and transported to UT Athens Emergency Room at Childs request.
Henderson County 392nd Judicial District Judge Scott McKee issued a search warrant for the residence. Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 5 Judge Tanya Norris arrived at the scene to conduct an inquest. Judge Norris ordered an autopsy at Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas.
According to HCSO Childs was released from UT Athens and then placed under arrest for murder and transported to the Henderson County Jail where she is currently awaiting arraignment.
