Bulldogs sweep Panthers

MABANK–The Mabank Panthers and the Eustace Bulldogs got together at Panther Gym Aug. 26 for a non-district rivalry matchup on the volleyball court.
SET ONE
Tied at 4 early, Mabank took the 6-4 lead. A 5-0 Eustace run gave the Bulldogs the 9-6 advantage.
Tied at 15, a 4-1 stretch made it 19-16 in favor of Eustace. The Panthers scored four in a row and took the 20-19 lead.
The Bulldogs got three straight to lead 22-20 before the Panthers tied it up at 22. 
Eustace scored the last three to wrap up a thrilling first set, 25-22.
SET TWO
Mabank began with the 4-1 lead before two straight Eustace points trimmed it to 4-3.
After the Panthers took the 6-3 advantage, the Bulldogs went on a commanding 12-2 run and led 15-8.
Mabank scored three straight and cut it to 15-11. With Eustace leading 17-12, the Bulldogs outscored the Panthers, 7-2, to lead 24-14 for set point.
Mabank put together two more points before Eustace closed out the second set, 25-16.
SET THREE
The Bulldogs began with the 6-1 lead. At 9-2, Mabank used a 4-1 stretch and trailed 10-6.
An 8-3 Eustace run extended their lead to 18-9. As the Panthers cut it to 18-11, the Bulldogs scored six straight to make a match point at 24-11. 
Mabank scored two more points before Eustace closed out the match, 25-13, for a three-set road sweep.
Eustace played matches against Cayuga, Chapel Hill and Scurry-Rosser  Aug. 28 while Mabank played their following match Aug. 29 at Kaufman.
