KEMP–The Kemp Lady Yellowjackets picked up their first district win of the 2022 season over the Blooming Grove Lady Lions Sept. 20 at home.
After going winless in district play in 2021, the Lady ’Jackets picked up a big comeback victory over the Lady Lions as they won in five sets after dropping two of the first three.
The Lady ’Jackets fell in the first set 25-18 before bouncing back in the second set with a 25-23 victory.
Blooming Grove took the third set 25-17. Kemp battled down the stretch in the fourth set before coming out on top, 26-24, forcing a fifth set.
Kemp and Blooming Grove against fought hard in the fifth set, but the Lady ’Jackets came out victorious, 15-12.
After falling to the Scurry-Rosser Lady Wildcats Sept. 23, Kemp sits at 7-11 overall on the season and 1-4 in district play.
