Mabank shuts out Quinlan-Ford, 11-0

MABANK– The Mabank Panthers baseball team hosted the Quinlan-Ford Panthers on Tuesday, March 7.
Mabank struck first and led 3-0 in the bottom of the first inning after Kyler Howeth and Levi Tanksley both scored on throwing errors and Hagen Tijerina recorded an RBI single.
Mabank added four in the bottom half of the second with RBI singles from Tyler McNiel and Howeth, with McNiel and Tanksley both coming home on a dropped pop fly to lead 7-0.
Tijerina’s RBI single in the bottom of the fourth scored Ty Reedy and the lead became 8-0.
The game wrapped up in the bottom of the fifth as Howseth recorded an RBI single and two runners came home on a live ball to pick up the 11-0 shutout win. Jared Mershon started on the mound for Mabank and pitched all five innings.
